Interventional Cardiology
The Interventional Cardiology Departments of Athens Medical Group Heart Centers have modern haemodynamic laboratories, where the whole range of coronary heart diseases, peripheral vascular disease and structural – congenital heart diseases are diagnosed and treated on a daily basis 24/7.
The Electrophysiology and Pacing Laboratory of the Heart Centers are two of the few existing in Greece, where the full range of electrophysiology and pacing procedures are carried out, such as: atrial fibrillation ablation operations with the modern method of cryocoagulation and with the help of the most modern electroanatomical mapping systems, catalysis of intracardiac and epicardial ventricular tachycardia with the help of the most modern electroanatomical mapping systems, atrial flutter inductions with the help of the most modern electroanatomical mapping systems, catalysis of supraventricular arrhythmias, implantations of the new tiny pacemakers without wires, percutaneous left atrial appendages in patients with atrial fibrillation and high thromboembolic and bleeding risk.
At the same time, in the Haemodynamic Laboratories, full electrophysiological tests are carried out and implantations of biventricular pacing and defibrillation systems are carried out (compatible with magnetic resonance imaging when there is a medical indication), as well as implantations and replacements of standard pacing systems with limited hospitalization time.
